Key Responsibilities
Strategic Tax Management
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize company tax positions.
- Lead tax provision calculations and ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Manage transfer pricing policies and ensure proper documentation compliance.
- Oversee the timely and accurate filing of all statutory tax returns.
- Provide strategic tax advice to senior management on risk mitigation and compliance.
- Lead tax audit defense and management, ensuring proper documentation and responses.
Compliance Leadership
- Develop and implement regulatory compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to local laws.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, submissions, and statutory requirements.
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies (BIR, SEC, LGUs, and other agencies).
- Ensure business permits, licenses, and registrations are up to date.
- Conduct internal compliance audits to assess and improve tax and regulatory adherence.
- Create and implement compliance training programs for internal teams.
Process Management
- Establish and enforce best practices in tax reporting and compliance processes.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants.
- Implement tax technology solutions to improve compliance tracking and reporting.
- Develop tax risk management frameworks to mitigate potential liabilities.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and file all statutory tax returns (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Manage withholding tax computations and compliance, ensuring accurate remittances.
- Handle VAT reporting and compliance, including input/output VAT reconciliation.
- Maintain and update transfer pricing documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor tax law updates and legislative changes, ensuring timely implementation.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants for complex tax matters and advisory.
Regulatory & Corporate Compliance
- Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, and other regulatory authorities.
- Maintain and update business permits, licenses, and statutory registrations.
- Manage statutory reporting obligations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with government agencies on regulatory matters and business compliance.
- Monitor changes in tax and regulatory requirements and implement necessary updates.
- Prepare and maintain a compliance calendar to track key reporting deadlines.
Financial Control & Advisory
- Review contracts and agreements for potential tax implications.
- Implement tax-efficient strategies to optimize business operations and profitability.
- Conduct internal tax audits to assess and mitigate compliance risks.
- Prepare documentation for tax assessments and audits, ensuring proper recordkeeping.
- Provide tax advisory support to internal departments on financial transactions.
- Monitor and leverage available tax incentives and exemptions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification required.
- 5+ years of tax experience, including at least 2+ years in a senior role.
- Advanced knowledge of Philippine tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in the entertainment, media, or advertising industry is preferred.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and process improvement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., Xero, SAP).
