Role Summary

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Analyst to join their dynamic financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting SBA loan applications, analyzing financial data, and preparing comprehensive loan packages for presentation to lenders. You will play a critical role in supporting small businesses by matching them with smart financing solutions tailored to their needs.

This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a passion for finance, and a keen interest in SBA lending. The successful candidate will be dependable, adaptable, and thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced remote environment.

WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (9:00 PM – 6:00 AM Philippine Standard time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

Essential Functions

  • Perform the following tasks related to loan evaluation and underwriting:
    • Evaluate and underwrite SBA loan applications to assess creditworthiness and ensure compliance with lending guidelines
    • Review and analyze customer financial information, identifying trends that may affect repayment risk
    • Conduct borrower interviews to gather and verify loan request information
  • Perform the following tasks related to financial analysis and risk assessment:
    • Analyze credit data and financial statements of prospective and existing commercial borrowers to determine risk
    • Perform cash flow analysis and assess borrowers’ financial stability and repayment capacity
    • Identify and document any areas of financial concern and recommend credit decisions accordingly
  • Perform the following tasks related to loan documentation and presentation:
    • Prepare detailed, accurate, and objective loan packages for submission to lenders
    • Ensure all loan documentation is complete, consistent, and meets company and lender standards
    • Maintain thorough records of loan evaluations and communication
  • Perform the following tasks related to client and lender communication:
    • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documents and support throughout the loan process
    • Serve as a liaison between clients and lenders, providing guidance and timely updates
    • Support loan closings by coordinating with all involved parties to ensure smooth execution
  • Perform the following tasks related to compliance and standards:
    • Stay updated with SBA lending regulations and industry best practices
    • Ensure all underwriting and documentation processes adhere to internal policies and compliance standards
    • Assist in implementing improvements to enhance the credit review process
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience with SBA loan underwriting or credit analysis
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and business cash flow evaluation
  • Familiarity with commercial lending practices and risk assessment methodologies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with financial modeling is a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities remotely
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability with a willingness to learn and grow in the financial industry
  • High stress tolerance and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
