Core Objectives:
The Mid-Level Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing our secure and well-governed private cloud environment. This role is pivotal in defining the target "to-be" architecture and establishing the cloud foundation/landing zone that will serve as the bedrock for all future cloud adoption within the bank . You will ensure the environment is scalable, secure, and cost-efficient, aligning closely with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design: Define the target cloud architecture encompassing resource organization, identity and access management (IAM), network topology, security, governance, monitoring, and cost management frameworks.
- Landing Zone Implementation: Design and build the modular, scalable cloud foundation or landing zone using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for automated and repeatable deployment.
- Peripheral Services Integration: Implement essential peripheral services including logging and monitoring, disaster recovery, certificate/key management, and cloud cost tracking solutions.
- Governance and Compliance: Establish operational processes, policies, and guardrails to ensure ongoing governance, security, and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaboration and Strategy: Work closely with cloud platform teams, application teams, security, and compliance departments to ensure integration and align with the broader cloud migration strategy .
Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience Level: 5-10 of experience in cloud solution design, implementation, and support, with a focus on building foundational cloud environments.
- Skills and Competencies: Proficient in AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, cloud design, networking, security, identity management, governance, automation, cost management, and disaster recovery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Must-Have Qualifications:
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS or Azure, including their core infrastructure and management services.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud landing zones, including resource organization, networking, IAM, and security controls.
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Solid understanding of networking, virtualization, and core security concepts applicable to cloud environments.
2. Good-to-Have Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry, understanding its specific compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A positive attitude and commitment to technical excellence and continuous learning in the rapidly evolving cloud landscape.
