We’re seeking an expert-level Plumbing Designer/Engineer (minimum 10 years’ experience) to join our small, fast-paced team. You must be highly proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, with a proven track record delivering and laying out complex plumbing systems. This role is for genuine experts—exceptionally intelligent, professional, diligent, organised, and challenge-driven.
You will be responsible for performing hydraulic design calculations, including sanitary, vent, domestic water, storm, and grease waste systems, as well as gas system design. Your role will involve pump pressure drop and head calculations, designing fire protection systems, and developing riser diagrams. You will also need to review submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform quality review checks of 2D/3D modelling including coordination between MEP services, structure and architectural elements.
Design and Layout
- Design and document plumbing systems and create detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform hydraulic design calculations for sanitary, vent, domestic water, storm, grease waste systems, and select appropriate equipment sizes.
- Conduct gas system design, including calculations and equipment selection.
- Design fire protection systems, develop riser diagrams, and select appropriate equipment.
Calculation and Analysis:
- Calculate pump pressure drop and head requirements, and select suitable pumps.
- Perform detailed analysis and ensure systems meet design requirements and specifications.
Review and Quality Assurance:
- Review submittals and respond and raise Requests for Information (RFIs) in a timely manner.
- Perform quality review checks of 2D/3D modeling to ensure accuracy and compliance with design standards.
- Clash detection and coordination with other MEPF service and buildsing structure
Documentation and Standards:
- Develop and maintain schedules, and create detailed design documents as necessary.
- Ensure designs comply with IPC, UPC, and other relevant international codes and standards (preferably AUSTRALIAN-based).
Collaboration and Communication:
- English must be at expert level of both reading, writing and speaking
- Work closely with project teams to ensure design integration and alignment with project goals.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to address design-related issues and provide technical support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in AutoCAD & Revit for plumbing system design.
- Experience in the design and layout of plumbing systems, including hydraulic design calculations.
- Proficiency in designing gas systems and fire protection systems, including pump calculations and equipment selection.
- Familiarity with IPC, PCA, and other international codes and standards (preferably AUS).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed calculations and quality checks.
- Self-motivated and driven with excellent communication skills - This is a remote job and will required a self motivated individual.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Must be fluent in english with perfect literacy skills.
MUST HAVE:
- Advanced knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD functionalities.
- Experience with complex projects and multi-discipline coordination.
- Certification in relevant professional organizations (e.g., ASPE, ASHRAE).
