Providence Hospital opened in November 2014 and is led by doctors and administrators who have had a broad local and international hospital management experience. It is a Level II, 78-bed general hospital that is capable of providing heart care services (cardiac catheterization laboratory), kidney transplant services, shock-wave kidney stone treatment (lithotripsy) and out-patient chemotherapy. It is located along Quezon Ave., West Triangle, Quezon City near EDSA. Over 700 doctors from various specialties and sub-specialties comprise its medical staff. The hospital manages most significant diseases including less common medical conditions. In-patients are cared for 24 hours a day by hospitalists from five major specialties: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Emergency Medicine. The hospital carries the most up-to-date diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. These include digitally computerized tomography (CT) scan and x-ray machines, 3D mammogram, breast ultrasound, 4D OB-Gyne ultrasound, state-of-the-art laparoscopic units, Intensive Care (ICU) and Coronary Care units. The blood bank is capable of receiving and processing blood from donors to fill patients’ transfusion requirements. Its laboratory can perform automated immunohistochemistry staining. The hospital endeavors to keep its doctors abreast of the latest medical knowledge and information through active participation in medical symposiums here and abroad. Physicians also actively participate in medical research studies wherein results and findings made by them are often cited and published in medical journals.
