Drake’s top client – an HVAC manufacturer is hiring a HVAC Sales Engineer (Plant Room Upgrade) to be part of their collaborative team in Paranaque City.


Summary:

The Plant Room Upgrade Sales Engineer is responsible for designing equipment and developing projects based on customer requirements. This role involves selecting and sizing equipment, as well as preparing bid documents in a timely manner. Reporting to the Plant Room Upgrade Sales Manager, the Sales Engineer collaborates closely with Customer Consultants, the Operations team, and the Support team to ensure the successful execution of strategies.


Additionally, the role focuses on developing long-term customer relationships to achieve customer satisfaction in alignment with the company’s strategy. It requires technical knowledge, a strong customer focus, and the ability to work closely with other departments and functions to deliver value to customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct project design activities, such as equipment selection and sizing, in alignment with customer requirements; Understand scope of HVAC work to bid.
  • Conduct on-site surveys and measurements and attend pre-bid walkthroughs as required; Present the proposal to the customer.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, technical and support team to develop project plans and specifications, budgets, and schedules.
  • Monitor project progress on a regular basis and prepare status reports for management.
  • Source, collaborate with, and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain quotations and fulfill project requirements.
  • Assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and create costing sheets.
  • Keep and update estimating logs and unit costs for all projects to ensure accurate cost estimation and tracking.
  • Encourage customer growth and loyalty to the company through continuous support and customer assistance.
  • Utilize account management process to identify key customers and develop strategic action plans to foster the growth of these identified accounts in the field of plant room retrofit; Identify potential options that will cater to customer needs and ensure seamless availability of retrofit opportunities.
  • Understand customers' vertical market needs and determine pricing and selling strategies.
  • Prepare and review contract terms and conditions using standard Trane templates when applicable.
  • Provide marketplace feedback, including competitive information, customer expectations, industry trends, etc.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • At least 2-3 years’ DIRECT SALES experience. Knowledge in HVAC system, Chiller Plant, Airside, Energy Services, and Building Services will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC/Mechanical Contracting
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering documents.
  • Able to solve complex problems. Integrates and interprets data from diverse sources to find solutions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with multi-functional teams.
