Support the AVP for Finance in the overall management of Financial Assets and liabilities of Generali Philippines.
Responsible for the implementation of IFRS 17
Perform other tasks that the superior/s may assign from time to time
Duties and Responsibilities:
IFRS 17:
Initially to work within the program team delivering IFRS17 into the business, be responsible for managing the team which will own the IFRS17 process and accounting within Finance’s Reporting team structure.
Supporting Application of the Standard activities such as defining proformas for IFRS 17 compliant financial statements and disclosures
Developing the chart of accounts, ledger postings and IFRS 17 disclosures
Lead the Dry Run testing as the main stakeholder delivering comparative runs to our external auditors
In BAU, work closely with the Financial Reporting Team to ensure the successful delivery of the annual and interim reports
In BAU, work closely with the technical team to ensure continued compliance with IFRS 17 as and when technical changes arise
Financial Reporting, Budget & Planning:
Manage and direct the preparation of expense budgets
Monitor achievement of budget objectives through variance analysis and initiating corrective actions
Prevent company losses by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
Participate in strategic initiatives and projects especially those that will require Finance or Accounting technical knowhow
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
Qualifications:
University graduate with a degree in Accountancy or Business courses major in accounting
3 years or more of experience in generalist accounting or finance
2 years on supervisory position
Preferably with experience working in one of the Big 4 firms
Preferably knowledgeable in insurance industry
Certified Public Accountant
Ability to assess, identify and record financial transactions in line with IFRS 17 principles, mastering new metrics such as CSM, Risk Adjustment & insurance margin
Knowledge of accounting principles, recording of transactions, EOM / EOY expense accruals, amortizations, knows the chart of accounts, reinsurance accounting, etc).
