Engr. Danilo D. Tamayo is the person behind his eponymous company DDT Konstract Inc. Tracing humble roots in the coastal hometown of Buguey, Cagayan—an environment far removed from the milieu of building and construction of which he would eventually flourish in—what he was armed with was ambition to rise above the challenges of poverty and lack of opportunities, as well as God-given talent and innate skills in mathematics. He bravely ventured in Manila in his teens to pursue a civil engineering degree at the National University, overcoming financial lack through a combination of hard work, academic excellence and street smarts. After graduation, he started a family with his college sweetheart Cynthia and began work as an employee in various construction firms. He rose from the ranks as foreman to project engineer and eventually vice president. The Asian financial crisis of 1997 hit and Tamayo found himself without a job. At this critical juncture, he decided to stake it out on his own and start his one-man firm, eventually taking in a few employees including his wife who is also a civil engineer by profession. DDTKI started with small residential and commercial projects while steadily earning a reputation for quality work and professional dealings. DDTKI’s big break was constructing the SM Molino mall in Bacoor, Cavite which effectively paved the way for larger and more important projects with the SM Group such as the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City and many other shopping centers across the country. DDTKI has also partnered with some of the largest real estate companies and conglomerates in the country such as Ayala Land, SM, Filinvest Land, Robinsons Land and several others. Today, 20 years after Tamayo established DDTKI, the company shows no indication of slowing down and is actively engaged in many more landmark projects that are redefining the construction landscape across the country. OUR RESOURCES DDT KONSTRACT, INC. (DDTKI) is a duly formed corporation which caters to all types of general building construction. This was formed by a group of professionals with wide raging capability in building construction and solidly backed-up by capable adminstrative and financial managers. This group of tested professionals where thoroughly exposed to all construction standards, both local and foreign, as evidenced by many completed projects owned and managed by foreigners and local developers. OUR STRENGTH DDT KONSTRACT, INC. puts emphasis on the efficiency of direct production which is the backbone of every successful construction undertaking. For us, efficiency of direct production means putting all the construction neccessities in line, which are good site management, enough logistics and good system. With all these as our guiding principle, we are strong enough to deliver any project ON TIME, SAFELY, WITH QUALITY and resulting to GOOD BUSINESS TO ALL. DDT KONSTRACT, INC. is complied with all requirements of the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board in terms of financial and tehcnical capabilities and grandted a license with Category "AAAA" for General Building and General Engineering.
